Pet Microchipping

Pet Microchipping

Pet Microchipping

Millions of pets go missing every year. Microchipping is an easy and affordable way to help protect your pet. Collars and tags are also recommended, but they can get damaged, pulled off, caught on objects, or fall off. Should your pet ever get lost, a registered microchip is your best option to get them safely home. The procedure is minimally invasive: a microchip with a unique identifying number is injected with a needle between the shoulder blades. Your pet may feel a pinch similar to when a vaccine is administered. You would then register your pet with the microchip registration company.

Should someone find your pet, they can bring them to a veterinary clinic like Gully Animal Hospital where they can be scanned for the microchip. Many animal shelters also have scanning capabilities.
